Dear Students and Parents of
Dorchester County Public Schools:

Dorchester County Public Schools are committed to the success of each and every one of our students. We define that success in terms of each student completing his/her unique program of study and emerging college and career ready, in order to be competitive in our ever-changing global economy.
Towards that end, we have prepared this Website for each of our stakeholders. It contains the information you need to plan proactively for virtually every phase of school life. Please read it carefully and refer to it regularly.
I would refer you, also, to the Second Term Priorities I established in 2014 at the beginning of my second four-year term as superintendent of Dorchester County Public Schools:
o Closing the persisting achievement/opportunity gaps with respect to our minority, FARM, and special education populations
o Fostering a more diverse and competitively compensated workforce
o Advancing our state rankings with respect to prominent indicators of accountability
o Achieving PARCC Assessment readiness through full implementation of the Common
Core State Standards and by advancing technological capacity
o Expanding Prekindergarten opportunities
o Securing the resources for a new North Dorchester High School
o Addressing projected enrollment increases in a proactive manner
o Expanding the appropriate use of technology into instructional and administrative processes
Although significant progress on these goals has already been realized, the insights and participation of all stakeholders are always welcome with regard to any and all of these priorities.
In closing, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2015-2016 school year; let us work together this year in pursuit of our mission behalf of the children of Dorchester County.

Henry V. Wagner, Jr., Ed.D.
